Robots. AI. Healthcare

Hi! I’m Conor McGinn — co-founder and CEO of Akara, where we build robots that supercharge hospital productivity and support frontline workers in ways that weren’t possible before. I’ve also spent time in academia, most recently as an Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin, where I worked at the intersection of robotics, AI, and healthcare.

This blog is my little corner of the internet to share personal reflections, occasional rants, and behind-the-scenes stories from the frontlines of hospital automation. It’s less about polished press releases and more about the messy, fascinating reality of deploying robots in the real world; the kind of stuff you don’t always hear about in keynotes or funding pitches.

I write mainly for fellow engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and the VCs who back them — especially those brave enough to bring robots into busy hospital corridors.

Expect thoughts on tech, tales from the trenches, and probably the odd joke at a robot’s expense.
